Maria Rallo Muguruza is a Spanish violist who has established herself as a promising young musician in the classical music world. Born in 1996 in Hondarribia, Maria began studying music at a young age and has since pursued her passion with dedication and hard work.

Maria’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, where she studied with Prof. Pauline Sachse from 2014 to 2019. She then completed a Bachelor’s degree at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in 2020 and finished her Master’s degree at the same institution with the highest grade.

Throughout her career, Maria has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Erich Krüger, Wilfried Strehle, Hartmut Rohde, Wolfram Christ, Ana Chumachenko, Ivry Gitlis, Natalia Prischepenko and Heime Müller. These experiences have allowed her to refine her skills and learn from some of the best in the industry.

Despite her youth, Maria has gained extensive orchestral experience and had her first job at the young age of 20 with the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, where she was a member since 2017. She has also played with several other orchestras such as the Berlin Radio Sinfonic Orchestra, Dresden Philarmonic, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Alma Mahler Kammerorchester, and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester. In 2020-2021, Maria held a temporary contract as Co-Solo/Solo Viola with the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, and since 2021, she has been a Solo Viola Substitute for the Basque National Orchestra.

In addition to her orchestral work, Maria is a passionate chamber music player and devotes time to playing with the Amaris Quartett which she joined in 2020. Despite her busy schedule, Maria always finds time to pursue her passion for chamber music. Her dedication to both orchestral and chamber music has helped her establish herself as a promising young violist in the classical music world.
