Salih Can Gevrek

Salih Can Gevrek, born in Turkey, began piano lessons at the age of 5. He was accepted into the Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Drama Preparatory School at the age of 7. He continued his studies at Bilkent University with Gulnara Aziz until 2011 when he was accepted into the Royal College of Music London. He completed his Artist Diploma at Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev and he has been actively at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels as an “Associated Artist”.

His achievements in international competitions started from age 10 when he was awarded a prize in the Eskisehir Anadolu University International Young Pianists Competition. His success continued with 2nd Prize in the Lubomir Pipkov International Piano Competition in Bulgaria, laureate in the Moscow State Conservatory International Piano Competition, and 1st Prize in the Kamuran Gundemir Piano Competition. He was also awarded the ‘Selcuk-Kamuran Gundemir’ Special Prize and performance of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.He recently won 1st prize in Gumusluk International Piano Competition and was awarded 3rd Prize and the Special Scriabin Prize at the Lyon International Piano Competition in France.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Belgian National Symphony Orchestra, Wallonie Chamber Orchestra, (INSO) Lviv Philharmonia Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Ankara Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed recitals in international music festivals, such as the Granada Music Festival in Spain,Bolzano Piano Festival, the Fondazione Bertarelli´s Amiata Festival in Pisa, Gstaad Sommets Musicaux
in Switzerland, Villa Musica in Mainz, Antalya Piano Festival, Music Above the Park Festival in Madrid, Sala Argenta in the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria, Santander, ‘Three Choirs Festival’ in Worcester and Bosch Young Classical Musicians Festival. His solo recital for the Ankara Music Festival 2011 was highly praised, and broadcast on live national radio in Spain and Turkey. Salih has performed in celebrated venues such as Berlin Philharmonic chamber hall,
Musikverein Brahms Saal, London´s Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St Martin-in- the-Fields and the Amaryllis Fleming Hall, the BOZAR,Flagey in Brussels, Lviv Philharmonic Hall, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Steinway Hall for Steinway´s 160th Anniversary ‘Arabesque’ Launch, the Joseph Joachim Concert Hall in Berlin and Salle Molière in Lyon.

He also performed chamber music with Miklos Pereyni, Frank Braley, Mate Szucs, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Boris Garlitsky, Alexander Huelshoff, Avo Koyoumdijan and Julia Pusker.

In the Netherlands he was recently awarded the Schiermonnikoog Island Festival audience prize and the Oranjewoud Festival Prize, 1st Prize at the ‘Eurasian Stars’ International Piano Competition in Astana and an exceptional achievement award at the Dubai Classic Piano International Piano Competition. In In March 2025, he won the Vienna International Music Competition and performed works by Chopin and Rachmaninov at the Musikverein Brahms Hall,
Vienna.

His first CD ‘Concertos without Orchestra’ features works of Bach, Schumann and Rachmaninov and was released on all platforms in April 2024.
