The energy of the most talented young musicians meets the experience of the world stage – this, in short, is The Next Generation Orchestra, a project, or rather a mission, that Allegra proudly supports with great affection. Taking the stage will be the finest students from the masterclasses of three major figures in today’s performing arts: Yamei Yu (violin), Öykü Campolat-Rast (viola), and Konstantin Heidrich (cello), joined and inspired by Allegra’s artistic director and founder, Petar Naydenov. They not only prepare the young talents but will also lead their respective sections in the orchestra, ensuring a sound of the highest caliber.
The program brings together works in which youthful impulse, the teacher’s experience, and reverence for tradition intertwine.
The evening opens with Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky by Anton Arensky – a musical epitaph to his teacher, transforming sorrow into a monument to tradition. It is followed by the boldness of the 17-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his Violin Concerto No. 1, inspired by Italian bel canto. The finale shines with the radiant Serenade for String Orchestra by Josef Suk – the result of the guidance of Antonín Dvořák to create “something bright,” a work that has become a symbol of youthful love and optimism.
Together, the three pieces reveal different faces of artistic lineage: the gratitude of Anton Arensky to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the youthful momentum of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the wise mentorship of Antonín Dvořák to Josef Suk. The concert shows how tradition is passed on like a living flame – through discipline, humility, and the teacher’s love for the student. As long as there are young people eager to learn and masters willing to share their knowledge, music remains a universal language.
Immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening of synergy between gifted young musicians, their inspiring mentors, and the timeless ritual of musical inheritance from the great masters.
